Monday: Test on Ch-10, Energy.Tuesday: Students will work on the following labs – crystal garden, making a silver tree out of copper wire in silvernitrate solution, and making atomic models using carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen bonds.
Wednesday: Discussion on sec-11.1, Atoms and energy. Students will learn about Rutherford’s atom, electromagnetic radiation, wavelength, frequency, photons, and emission of energy by atoms, etc. Do the section review for homework.
Thursday: Discussion on sec-11.2, The hydrogen atom. In this topic we’ll discuss the energy levels of hydrogen, Bohr model of the atom, wave mechanical model of the atom, etc. Do the section review for homework.
Friday: Discussion on sec-11.3, Atomic orbitals. We’ll learn about they hydrogen orbitals, principal energy levels, sublevels, Pauli Exclusion Principle, etc. Do the section review for homework.
