Monday: Students will review for the test on Ch-6 for the first half hour. Next, they will take the test.
Tuesday: Today we will discuss sec-7.1, Evidence for a Chemical Reaction. Students will learn about the clues or signals that show a chemical reaction has occurred. Next, we will move on to sec-7.2, Chemical Equations. Students will learn to identify the characteristics of a chemical reaction, and the information given by a chemical equation. Do the notes and section reviews for homework.
Wednesday: Discussion on sec-7.3, Balancing Chemical Equations. The main objective of this topic is to learn to write a balanced equation for a chemical reaction. Students should get familiar with the rules to write and balance equations. Next, we will work on balancing various types of equations.
Thursday: We will work on several problems and practice writing the equations and balancing them. Students will work in groups to sharpen their balancing skills.
Friday: Today we will work on sec-7.3, section review and then move on to the chapter assessment.
