Monday: Students will study for the test for the first half hour. Next, they will take a test on ch-4, Plate Tectonics.
Tuesday: Today we will discuss sec-1 on ch-5, What are Earthquakes? Students will learn where earthquakes take place, what causes earthquakes, elastic rebound, faults at tectonic plate boundaries, earthquake zones, primary waves, secondary waves, and surface waves. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Wednesday: Discussion on sec-2, Earthquake Measurement. We will discuss about locating earthquakes, determining the time and location of earthquakes, the S-P time method, measuring earthquake strength and intensity. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Thursday: We will focus on Earthquakes and Society on sec-3. Students will learn about earthquake hazard, earthquake forecasting, the Gap hypothesis, earthquake-resistant buildings, and earthquake preparedness. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Friday: Students will work on the chapter review during class and finish it for homework.
