JA 7A Science Schedule for Nov 23rd & 24th, 2009

Students should work on sec-3, volcanic eruptions notes and section assessment over the weekend. I will check their notes and collect the section assessment for grading on Monday, November 23rd.

Monday: Students will have time for the first 15 minutes to get help on the sec-3 section assessment. Next we will discuss sec-4, Volcanic Landforms. Students will learn about landforms from lava and ash, shield volcanoes, cinder cone volcanoes, composite volcanoes, lava plateaus, calderas, volcanic necks, dikes and sills, batholiths, Dome Mountains, hot springs, geysers, and geothermal energy. Do the notes and sec-4 section assessment for homework.

Tuesday: Students will work on a lab – How can Volcanic Activity change Earth’s Sruface? Later students will take a quiz on volcanoes.

Chemistry Schedule for Nov 23rd & 24th, 2009

Monday: Sec-6.1, 6.2, 6.3 section reviews, ch-6 notes, and ch-6 standardized test on page 215 is due on Monday, November 23rd. Next students will study for the test.

Tuesday: Test on ch-6, Chemical Composition.

Physical Science Schedule for Nov 23rd & 24th, 2009

Monday: Discussion on sec-7.4, Reaction Rates and sec-7.5, Equilibrium. Students will learn about reaction rate, factors affecting reaction rates, concentration, catalysts, types of equilibria, physical/chemical equilibrium, and factors affecting chemical equilibrium. Do sec-7.4 and sec-7.5 section assessments for homework.

Tuesday: Students will work on a lab – Manipulating Chemical Equilibrium. Students will use the following skills such as; formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, observing, and analyzing, predicting, calculating, and drawing conclusions.

Students should work on ch-7 chapter assessment over the break. They should work on questions 1 through 25. This assignment is due on Tuesday December 1st.
