Monday: Students should work on sec-3, Using mineral resources; study guide over the break. This assignment is due on Monday, December 1st. We’ll review all the three sections on Minerals during class. Tuesday: Students will work on an outdoor activity. This lab is to identify the minerals on the earth’s crust.
Wednesday: Discussion on sec-1, Classifying rocks. We’ll discuss about mineral composition and color, texture, grain size, grain shape, grain pattern, and how rocks form. Students will work on the study guide and finish it for homework.
Thursday: Discussion on sec-2, Igneous rocks. After the discussion students will watch a video on the formation of igneous rocks. Work on the study guide.
Friday: Discussion on sec-3, Sedimentary rocks. We’ll learn about erosion, deposition, compaction, and cementation, types of sedimentary rocks, clastic rocks, organic rocks, and chemical rocks. Do the study guide for homework.
