Tuesday: Sec-9.1 notes and section review, sec-9.2 notes (only), and sec-10.1 notes and section review are due today. Discussion on sec-10.2, The flow of energy. We’ll talk about thermodynamics, internal energy, measuring energy changes, calorie, joule, heat capacity, etc. Next students will work on practice problems. Complete the notes and finish the section review for homework.
Wednesday: Discussion on sec-10.3, Energy and chemical reactions. We’ll discuss about thermochemistry, enthalpy, calorimetry, Hess’s Law, etc. Do the section review and notes for homework.
Thursday: Discussion on sec-10.4, using energy in real world. We’ll discuss about petroleum, natural gas, coal, effects of carbondioxide on climate, greenhouse effect, energy spread, matter spread, etc. Do the section review and notes for homework.
Friday: Students will work on the ch-10 review during class and study for the test.
