Physical Science Schedule for Dec 5th - 9th

Monday: Students will work on "Determining Buoyant Force" lab. Students will learn to measure and calculate, how the buoyant force determines whether an object sinks.

Tuesday: Today students will review the chapter for the first half hour. Next, they will take a test on ch-13.

Wednesday: Discussion on sec-14.1, Work and Power. We will learn about the conditions that must exist for a force to do work on an object, calculate the work done on an object, describe and calculate power, and compare the units of watts and horsepower as they relate to power. Do the notes and review for homework.

Thursday: Today we will discuss sec-14.2, Work and Machines. Students will learn about what a machine is and how it makes work easier to do, relate the work input to a machine to the work output of the machine. Do the notes and review for homework.

Friday: We will discuss sec-14.3, Mechanical Advantage and Efficiency. Students will learn to compare a machine's actual mechanical advantage to its ideal mechanical advantage, calculate the ideal and actual mechanical advantages of various machines, and explain why the efficiency of a machine is always less than 100%. Do the notes and review for homework.
