Monday: Sections – 6.1 to 6.4 notes and section assessments are due today. Later students’ will work on practicing naming the compounds and writing their formulas followed by the chapter review.Tuesday: Students’ will work on two different activities during the lab – “alloys” and “hydrogen bonding”.
Wednesday: Test on ch-6, Chemical bonds. Later we’ll discuss sec-7.1, Describing reactions.
Thursday: Discussion on sec-7.2, Types of reactions. We’ll learn about synthesis reactions, decomposition reactions, single replacement, double replacement, combustion, and oxidation/ reduction reactions. Do the section assessment for homework.
Friday: Discussion on sec-7.3, Energy changes in reactions. Students’ will learn about chemical bonds and energy, breaking bonds, forming bonds, exothermic/endothermic reactions, and conservation of energy. Do the section assessment for homework.
