Physical Science Schedule for September 26th - 30th

Monday: Students will work on sec-5.3, section review for the first part of the block. Next, we will watch videos on Group 1, Group 2, Group 7, and Group 8 elements to see how their reactivity increases as they react with other elements.

Tuesday: Today students will work on ch-5 chapter review for the first part of the block. Next, we will study for the test.

Wednesday: Students will take a test on ch-5.

Thursday: Discussion on sec-6.1, Ionic Bonding. Students will learn to recognize stable electron configurations, predict an element’s chemical properties using valence electrons and electron dot diagrams, and relate the properties of ionic compounds to the structure of crystal lattices. Do the notes and section review for homework.

Friday: Today we will discuss sec-6.2, Covalent Bonding. Students will learn how atoms are held together in a covalent bond, the factors that determine whether a molecule is polar or nonpolar, etc. Do the notes and section review for homework.
