Monday: We will discuss sec-2, Restless Continents. Students will learn about Wegener’s Continental Drift, breakup of Pangaea, sea-floor spreading, mid-ocean ridges, magnetic reversals, etc. Do the section review for homework.
Tuesday: Discussion on sec-3, The Theory of Plate Tectonics. Students will learn to describe the three types of tectonic plate boundaries – convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries. They will also learn to describe the three forces that move the tectonic plates. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Wednesday: Today we will discuss sec-4, Deforming the Earth’s Crust. Students will learn about the two types of stress that deform rocks, the three major types of folds, identify the most common types of mountains, and explain the difference between uplift and subsidence. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Thursday: Students will watch videos about the Earth’s Crust, Plate Tectonics, Faulting, and Folding. Do the chapter review for homework.
Friday: Students will work on the chapter review and then study for the test.
