Monday: Discussion on sec-3, Absolute Dating: A Measure of Time. Students will learn how radioactive decay occurs, how radioactive decay relates to radiometric dating, identify four types of radiometric dating, etc. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Tuesday: Today we will discuss sec-4, Looking at Fossils. Students will learn to describe five different types of fossils form, three types of fossils that are not part of organisms, how fossils can be used to determine the history of changes in environments and organisms, etc. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Wednesday: We will discuss sec-5, Time Marches On. This topic explains how geologic time is recorded in rock layers, identify important dates on the geologic time scale, and explain how environmental changes resulted in the extinction of some species. Do the notes and section review for homework.
Thursday: Today students will work on the chapter assessment during class.
Friday: Students will work on “Making Fossils” lab.
